Welcome Home!

16 Aug

This morning I watched the arrival of 360 new immigrants into Israel who have come from all over North America, and remembered the excitement and being so overwhelmed as I stepped off the ‘plane 4.5 years ago. The immigrants coming off their flight had flag-waving family and friends to greet them, crowds of excited people, signs, balloons, a live band, Nefesh b’Nefesh officials and rows of amazed soldiers hugging and welcoming them to their new country.  I was met by a man named Itzhik from the Jewish Agency, holding an A4 piece of paper with my name on it, but it wasn’t any less emotional! Two very good friends did come to greet me with a balloon and a tshirt, whichwas awesome.  Also, without Twitter I probably wouldn’t have caught the live feed, and wouldn’t have been as caught up in the excitement as we welcomed the #twitpacha home. It’s a fascinating time to be alive! It’s a good day. Welcome home, people!
